Putting Tip #41 Choosing a Heel Mounted Off Set Hosel

A golfer who is left eye dominant generally keeps their hands in front of the putter face. Eyes, shoulders, hips and feet should be aligned parallel to the target line. Arms and shoulders should rock back and forth. A lot of golfers use a forward press which delofts the putter face and promotes a 2-3 degree rise angle at impact. The putter face should strike the ball at center mass. The heel hosel increase the Moment of Inertia (MOI) which stabilizes the putter face. A milled face with grooves will keep the ball on the face of the putter longer to increase the effect of rise angle and cause the ball to have top spin. Top spin promotes true roll. True roll ensures the ball rolls straight down the target line.
