Pre Shot Routine

Feel It
After setting up over your ball, close your eyes and take a rehearsal stroke. This eliminates any over thinking and removes the stress from your jaws and shoulders. Since you play the way you practice, your rehearsal stroke should be simple. A simple rehearsal stroke is a 1:1 back stroke to forward stroke ratio. Then hold the forward stroke for a count of 3. This allows your muscle memory to feel the rehearsal stroke toe to toe.

See It
Next, take a rehearsal stroke while looking at the target. This allows you to visualize the putt as well as feel the pace needed for the distance of the putt. Remember to hold the forward stroke for a count of 3. Muscle memory only remembers the previous 8 seconds so once you have completed the rehearsal strokes you have 8 seconds to Putt It.

Putt It
Last, putt the ball. Since our minds can only hold two simultaneous thoughts while making a putt, focus on the last thing you saw (the hole) and taking the forearm to the hole. Your ball will go where ever the forearm of your rear arm goes.
